Abstract

This study aims to: 1) develop educational play equipment (APE) for children aged 1-2 years in the form of media sensory carpet; 2) applying a sensory carpet media that supports children's understanding of the five senses. Research and development (Research and Development) refers to the Borg and Gall development model. The steps taken by researchers include gathering initial information, planning, initial product development, testing expert validation, revising the results of expert validation trials, initial field trials, revising the results of initial field trials, field trials and perfecting the final product. The results of the expert material assessment obtained an average score of 4.08 and the assessment of media experts obtained an average score of 4.62. After conducting field trials, researchers obtained a percentage score of 91.66%. So it can be concluded that the sensory carpet media for the understanding of the five senses of children aged 1-2 years is declared feasible to use.
