Abstract
In this paper we considered the shallow-water equation that represent wave propagation through porous media. Furthermore, the equation is solved using the implicit finite difference method forward-time centered space (FTCS). In solving these problems, we use absorbed boundary conditions to represent the physical situation of the waves continuation to run through the confines of the calculation domain. To observe the performance of the porous breakwater, We used solitary wave and a sinusoidal wave as the wave transmission. Furthermore, the magnitude of decrease in amplitude is calculated based on the amplitude of the waveform before and after through breaking waves. Numerical simulations have shown that the implicit difference method-up pretty good and easy to apply in solving the system of
differential equations.
