Abstract

The view of a language expert usually leads to communication or something complicated because it includes phonology, syntax, morphology, semantics and lexis, pragmatics, and discourse (Mitchel and Myles, 2001: 14). According to Sat et al. (2005), Phonology is the study that leads to the sound features used in language to communicate meaning, while lexical is more concerned with individual words or groups of words (vocabulary items) that aim to form a unit. While semantics is the science that leads to meaning, syntax emphasizes the structure and function of phrases and sentences. Besides that, Pragmatics is a study that leads to a connection between sentences and discourse. How much or little a teacher teaches a language depends on how well they understand it. I was learning a second or foreign language. Myles and Mitchel (2001: 11) Put it this way: "the learning of any language to any level, provided that the learning of the 'second' languagetakes place sometime later than the acquisition of the first language." This definition applies to learning a second language. In addition, they interpret the second language as something other than the language of the learner's "mother tongue," also known as their native language. The human language development process is known as language acquisition. Second language acquisition focuses on adult language development, whereas first language acquisition addresses language development in children. Whether nature or nurture is the most significant factor in acquisition has been the subject of ongoing debate. There are many ways that people learn English. Some people may study English in a formal setting, while others may do so casually. The students may also review it in English-speaking nations like Australia,the United States, Canada 3, or the United Kingdom. Because English is used in every aspect of society's life, students may thus get a lot of exposure to the language: trade, business, politics, education, and daily conversation are just a few examples. However, the majority of English learners study this in non-English-speaking nations. English is a second language in Malaysia, India, Mexico, Singapore, and other countries. English is the language of instruction in some schools—or at levels in some schools.
