Abstract

This research aims to answer the question of whether lifestyle variables, religiosity and peers have an influence
on student consumption behavior. The research method used is a quantitative approach with an emphasis on
testing theory through measuring research variables and the results of this research are a description of cause-
and-effect relationships. Data collection techniques were obtained through primary data with questionnaires and
supported by secondary data from interviews, observation and documentation. Then the data was analyzed using
multiple linear regression using SPSS 23 software. The results showed that lifestyle, religiosity and peer variables
simultaneously influenced students' consumption behavior with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The lifestyle
variable has an influence on student consumption behavior with a significance value of 0.037 < 0.05. The
religiosity variable influences students' consumption behavior with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The peer
variable has an influence on student consumption behavior with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Based on
research results, student consumption behavior is influenced by lifestyle variables, religiosity and peers.
Researchers suggest that when carrying out consumption activities, we should pay attention to consumption
behavior factors so that we can consume according to our needs and rationally
