Abstract

The importance of forming a responsible attitude of students so that they understand their obligations cannot be separated from the role of a teacher. Including the role of the Indonesian History teacher. The Indonesian History subject has characteristics related to character education. This prompted researchers to examine the role of the Indonesian History teacher in forming an attitude of responsibility at MAN 2 Malang. This study aims to (1) describe the role of Indonesian History teachers in shaping students' responsible attitudes at MAN 2 Malang. (2) Describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of the Indonesian History teacher's role in shaping students' responsible attitudes at MAN 2 Malang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation with informants from school principals, deputy curriculum heads, Indonesian history teachers, and students of class VIII Religion and class XII IPS 1. Data analysis used was data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. To test the validity of the data using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results showed that: (1) Indonesian history teachers played a role in shaping students' responsible attitudes at MAN 2 Malang, integrating character education with Indonesian history subjects and playing a role in fulfilling students' responsible attitude indicators. (2) Factors supporting the role of the Indonesian History teacher are the infrastructure and characteristics of the Indonesian History subject. The inhibiting factors for the role of the Indonesian History teacher were the limited infrastructure and the diverse personalities of the students.
