Abstract

Despite increasing interest in Islamic education and globalization, the connections between global, Islamic, and national frameworks in Islamic international schools are still not well-explored. Earlier studies have frequently analyzed these components separately, concentrating on piety development (Hefner, 2009), educational reform (Azra, 2006), or national identity (Parker, 2016), without investigating their intersection within one institutional context. Additionally, limited research has examined how hybridity functions symbolically, discursively, and pedagogically in routine practices. Recent qualitative studies (Hanif et al., 2024; Mustofa et al., 2023) suggest the creation of hybrid pedagogies, yet their effects on identity and authority are still under-theorized. the research examined schools as sites where modernity, religiosity, and civic values intersect. Three schools—Thursina (Malang), Al-Izzah (Batu), and Al-Azhar (Surabaya) International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS)—were purposefully selected to represent institutional and sociocultural variation. the result stated that The three Islamic international schools—Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (Malang), Al-Izzah International Islamic Boarding School (Batu), and Al-Azhar International Islamic Boarding School (Surabaya)—show a deliberate blending of educational objectives. Every institution integrates Cambridge curricula with Islamic education and Indonesian civic studies, creating a triadic framework of global-Islamic-national values.
