Abstract
Evaluation of Arabic language learning for non-Arabic speakers is a strategic component that determines the quality of both the learning process and its outcomes. The development of evaluation paradigms has shifted from assessments focused mainly on isolated linguistic knowledge toward assessments that emphasize authentic, contextual, and sustained communicative ability. This article aims to examine the concepts, theories, and practices of Arabic language evaluation for non-Arab learners by highlighting traditional assessment, communicative assessment, authentic assessment, formative assessment, Task-Based Language Assessment (TBLA), and the use of digital technology in language assessment. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing relevant national and international references. The findings indicate that an effective evaluation system must integrate validity, reliability, practicality, fairness, and task meaningfulness in order to comprehensively represent language competence. In addition, continuous feedback, the use of authentic tasks, and digital technology contribute to improving learner motivation, self-reflection, and communicative competence. Therefore, evaluation of Arabic language learning for non-Arabic speakers should be viewed not only as a tool for measuring learning outcomes, but also as a pedagogical instrument that supports process improvement and the continuous development of language competence.
