Abstract

Field laboratories are vital in social studies learning at the Islamic University, connecting concepts with social reality. This study aims to determine the development, feasibility, and influence of Virtual Reality-Based field laboratories on student motivation and learning outcomes. Using Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, the product was developed with Insta360, Insta Studio, and YouTube VR. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was applied. Validation involved material and media experts, while trials included lecturers and students from the Five State Islamic University in East Java. Instruments comprised feasibility and motivation questionnaires and learning outcome tests, all of which were tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including tests of normality and homogeneity, as well as paired t-tests. Results show that the VR-based field laboratory is highly feasible and effective. It enhances student motivation and learning outcomes, bridging theory and real-world social reality. This product significantly improves the quality and experience of social studies learning at the Islamic University.
