Abstract

Education strategy is an organized business planning to reach the purpose of the educational process. This research focuses on the descriptive strategies of teaching speaking skill and its supports and obstacles based on the behavioral theory at Ar-Rayah University. The objectives of this research are to describe the forms of speech skill teaching activities based on behavioral theory at Ar Rayah University, and to describe the supporting and hindering factors in teaching speaking skill at Ar Raayah University. The research used the qualitative approach, which focuses on describing the phenomena accurately and on a deeper understanding of them, and relied on the descriptive approach, which is an attempt to reach accurate and detailed knowledge using the case study method. The results of this research are that the supporting activities in teaching speaking skill are divided into three strategies, (1) the strategy of direct education consists in strengthening the language. (2) The interactive education strategy consists of scientific debate and error correction. (3) The strategy of self-education consists in reciting words and poetry. With the presence of supportive factors such as the linguistic environment, Arabic language teaching methodology and teaching aids, and hindering factors such as tribal nervousness and lack of self-confidence.
