Abstract

This era is known for the internet-utilization in all fields, including education. The Covid-19 pandemic becomes a catalyst that encourages massive internet-utilization for learning. The application of the internet in learning is known as e-learning. Unfortunately, e-learning is often criticized for its effectiveness. This study aims to determine the effectiveness for implementing interactive video with H5P plugins to improve students' understanding in the Ordinary Differential Equations Subject. To conduct this study, a mixed research method was chosen. First, ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) model development research is used to obtain valid interactive videos on exact and non-exact equation materials which can increase student understanding. Second, quasi-experimental research is carried out by setting class B as an experimental class while class C as a control class. Based on the quiz score from both classes, the effectiveness of the treatment is determined by using the effect size formula. The results of this study are interactive videos that have the features of providing direct feedback, assuring mastery of concepts, informing students' learning processes, and applicability. The treatment in the experiment class showed that interactive videos significantly influence student’s quiz scores. Furthermore, the effectiveness of giving interactive videos relates to students' understanding was categorized as very high. In conclusion, the combination of H5P and moodle-based e-learning can be applied to provide various learning experiences and improve the quality of learning.
